Requirements: age, weight and health
Who can do a tandem jump, and when to check with us first.
On this page
A tandem jump has three conditions: age, weight and no medical contraindications. There is no fitness requirement, no experience needed and no medical certificate required for a tandem.
Age
From 16 years old. Under-18s need written consent from a legal guardian, best prepared in advance. There is no upper age limit — health matters, not the date on your ID.
Weight
The limit is 100 kg, and it comes directly from what tandem equipment is certified for, so it is not negotiable. If you are close to it, tell us in advance — height-to-weight proportions also affect harness fit.
Health
We do not require a medical certificate, but you sign a declaration that nothing rules you out. Check with a doctor first if any of these apply:
- Heart or circulatory conditions, including high blood pressure.
- Epilepsy or any disorder affecting consciousness.
- Serious back, shoulder or joint problems — canopy opening puts forces through the body.
- Sinus or ear problems, especially a current infection.
- Pregnancy.
- Recent surgery or injury.
Before the jump
- No alcohol, including the night before — it rules you out of jumping.
- No scuba diving within 24 hours before the jump.
- Do not arrive on an empty stomach, or straight after a heavy meal.
