When we jump
Whether a jump happens is decided by the weather on the day — not by the forecast from a week earlier.
On this page
Skydiving is an air sport, and the weather sets the calendar rather than the other way round. Worth knowing before you buy a voucher for a particular date — because a voucher buys a jump, not a day.
What stops jumping
- Wind — its strength, its direction and how gusty it is. Both ground-level and upper wind count, and they can differ.
- Cloud base — high enough to exit safely and to have deployment happen in visibility.
- Visibility — fog, precipitation, haze.
- Thunderstorms, and fronts crossing the dropzone even when it is not raining at that moment.
None of this is assessed a week ahead. A forecast helps you plan, but the decision is made at the dropzone on the day, sometimes literally as the day goes on — it happens that the morning is unjumpable and the afternoon is fine.
What happens when the weather says no
- 01We contact you before you travel if it is already clear in the morning that there is no chance.
- 02If conditions are marginal, there may be waiting at the dropzone — a window can open for an hour.
- 03If the day does not come good, we set a new date. At no extra cost.
- 04The voucher keeps its validity. Nothing is lost.
Planning so that it works
- Do not plan the jump for the last day of the voucher's validity. Leave room for one reschedule.
- Do not plan it for the day before a wedding, a flight, or anything else that cannot move.
- Book out the day rather than the hour. The order of jumps follows weather and how busy it is.
- If you are coming as a group, say so when arranging the date — it is easier to fit you into one window.
Time of day
Mornings tend to be calmer — wind usually builds through the day, and visibility is often best early. Late afternoon has the better light, which matters if you have chosen a filmed variant. Both work; if you have a preference, mention it when you arrange the date.

Frequently asked questions
Does jumping happen in winter?
Whether jumping is possible is decided by the conditions on the day rather than by the season alone. We confirm current dates when arranging yours.
What if the weather is bad on my date?
We set a new date at no extra cost and the voucher keeps its validity. Nothing is lost.
Can I cancel myself based on the forecast?
Better not to. The decision is made at the dropzone on the day, and conditions differ from forecasts — mornings that cannot run often turn into afternoons that can.
How long should I allow at the dropzone?
Plan for the day, or at least several hours. The order of jumps depends on the weather and how busy the manifest is.
