FAI ratifies 104-way canopy formation world record
The Florida record brought together 104 canopy pilots from 20 countries, including Poland.
AI artThe World Air Sports Federation has ratified the record set at Jump Florida Skydiving Centre in Lake Wales on 22 November 2025. One hundred and four skydivers linked under open parachutes.
Eleven attempts and an 11-minute build
FAI reports that eight aircraft delivered the participants at several altitudes. The formation was completed on the eleventh attempt in about 11 minutes 15 seconds and held for 20 seconds.
The build began far above the base
The first nine jumpers exited at 19,500 feet. Further groups followed from 18,000, 15,000, 12,500 and 12,000 feet, creating a planned order for building the formation under canopy.
Ratification is a separate stage
Completing the shape does not finish the record process. Judges need visual evidence to verify the configuration and required grips. Six aerial photographers and videographers documented this jump.
