Hen party with a skydive

A hen party built around a skydive splits into two halves without any help: the jump in the morning, the story of it all evening. A tandem needs no preparation at all, so anyone within the limits can join, whatever their fitness or experience. For the whole jump you are clipped to the instructor, and the entire preparation is a briefing of about fifteen minutes on the ground.

A surprise for the bride

The bride does not have to know in advance. The voucher can carry her name and be handed over at the party, and she picks the date herself, within 12 months of purchase. So she does not have to jump on the day of the hen party: she can choose a quiet weekend before the wedding or after it.

The PDF can be printed, or you can set a date on which we send it to her address in the morning. If the rest of the group's vouchers are on the same order, do not enter her address as the recipient: the recipient's copy includes the whole order, so she would receive every code. The PDFs reach the person who placed the order anyway, as separate attachments, and a voucher carries a name only if one was entered.

Who can jump

There are three conditions and they apply to each person separately. There is no minimum age, and anyone under 18 needs written consent from a legal guardian, so the bride's younger sister can jump too if a parent signs. The weight limit is 100 kg. The third condition is no medical contraindications, confirmed by signing a declaration on the day.

Fitness does not matter, because the instructor supplies the technique. Health does: with heart conditions, recent injuries, back problems or pregnancy, the decision belongs to a doctor, not to a form. The full list is in the guide to requirements.

What happens in the air

1. 01A briefing on the ground: body position for the exit and for the landing. About fifteen minutes, not a course.
2. 02The flight up to 4,000 metres.
3. 03The exit, and around 60 seconds of freefall at up to 200 km/h.
4. 04The canopy opens and there are several quiet minutes. This is when you can talk and look around.
5. 05The landing, together with the instructor, who asks you to lift your legs for it.

Alcohol and the order of the day

The champagne waits until evening. Anyone under the influence will not be cleared and does not jump that day, and that includes drink from the night before. The liver clears alcohol at an average of about 0.15 per mille an hour, whatever you do with coffee or a cold shower, so after a late night it can still be in your blood in the morning.

The simplest plan puts the jump on the first day of the weekend and the party on its evening. People usually spend several hours at the dropzone, because the order of jumps depends on the weather and how busy the day is, so leave the afternoon free and eat a normal breakfast. Keep clear of the wedding itself: weather can close a chosen day, and a jump on the eve of the wedding has nowhere to move to.

Season and jumping days

We jump from April to October, at weekends and on selected weekdays.

A hen party in winter is no problem. The voucher is handed over at the party and the jump booked in the season, within 12 months of purchase.

When someone is not sure

In a group, decisions come at different speeds, and nobody needs to jump just to keep the others company. Anyone who would rather watch comes to the dropzone for free and sees the take-offs and landings; nobody books a place for them.

If the voucher is already bought and its owner changes her mind, somebody else can use the code: the voucher is to the bearer, so it is the code that counts, not the name. Doubts are best talked through with the instructor on the ground, before take-off, and anyone who is frightened will find concrete answers in the guide to fear of skydiving.

Paying together and the discount

The discount applies by itself, across the whole order, and counts items in the basket whatever the variant. The ladder is written in people because one person is usually one voucher.

• Two people — 9% off.
• 3 or more — 10% off.
• 5 or more — 11% off.

One order means one person paying once for everyone, the discount on the whole amount and every PDF in that person's inbox. The bride's voucher counts towards the threshold like any other, even if she is not paying for it. When everyone pays separately, each order is counted on its own and a single voucher gets no group discount, so it usually pays to collect the money first and order once.

Film: the face or the whole jump

If it is the face you are after, the hand-cam is what shows it: the instructor holds it right by the jumper through the exit, the freefall and the canopy opening. The camera flyer is a separate skydiver who flies alongside and films the whole jump from outside. The top variant gives you both.

Footage belongs to a voucher, not to the group. Each person who wants footage of their own jump needs a filmed variant, and a shot of several of you together in the air is not something we promise. Variants can differ within one order, so the bride alone can be filmed. The footage is handed over after landing, and phones stay on the ground, because nobody holds anything during the jump.

Booking the date

1. 01Order the vouchers together, with the names of the people they are for.
2. 02Once the order is paid, the codes arrive by e-mail, as soon as the payment is confirmed.
3. 03Each code is booked separately on the booking page, saying whether the voucher includes filming. If one day for the whole group matters, write to us before anyone books.
